This audio track was originally paired with a video track on YouTube.
However aside from showing off Kirby’s Movie Madness shirt (merch from a local video store, still operating in Portland, Oregon), there’s nothing on the video track you really need to make sense of the audio.
So I figure this is a great opportunity to break into podcasting on Substack.
On Ryan’s suggestion, I’m simply separating out the audio track from the YouTube on his channel and re-uploading it here as a podcast.
Erratum: Homer Davenport, the political cartoonist from Silverton, Oregon, was not the source of the “I Like Ike” presidential campaign slogan (he’d passed away by that time); he came up with “He’s Good Enough for Me” for Theodore Roosevelt, a slogan the Nixon campaign also used.
