I’ve been with the TrimTab Book Club since the end of 2020. I’ve published almost 400 posts to the associated Google Group members-only archive.
We’re students of the R. Buckminster Fuller (RBF) corpus, meaning we read a lot of books by and about Bucky.
Recently, trimtabber Stephen Bau started an associated Substack account and contributed this article entitled Spontaneous Cooperation, wherein he gives more information about the connected social matrix, our network.
These developments in turn encouraged me to spontaneously cooperate by fleshing out my own Substack account. I’d joined recently, but hadn’t done any significant work to fill out my profile.
This was my first post to Substack. I also imported some of my earlier writings from Medium, by way of introducing yet another stash of my writings.
Here’s what I posted in 2020, upon joining the book club’s Google Group:
To Trimtab Book Club on Dec 19, 2020, 9:04:12 AM:
Greetings to the Trimtab Book Club.
I've been looking over this archives, having picked up an invite from Curt on one of the many Bucky related Facebook groups.
Here's how I share Synergetics (Fuller's, not Haken's):
I've got this online deck of slides, Google slides, also converted to PDF, that I share freely, with an invitation to teachers who want to use it, to share Synergetics, to do so. My permission in advance.
Thing is, before you'll wanna use my slides, or anyone's materials, you'll wanna see if (a) its content you understand and find worth sharing and (b) you think it actually well represents (accurately interprets, correctly deciphers) the field it purports to share, in this case Synergetics (the Macmillan volumes, not Springer-Verlag's).
That's where my Youtubes come in. Examples:
(Nov 16 sharing of slides)
(Aug 19 sharing of slides)
Given all the hard work this group has already done, to dig in to this material, it'll be my privilege to get any feedback.
You're not casual strangers to the work in question. I understand you have pre-agreed stuff to work on and study and I've coming in out of the blue, so I understand if you need to back burner my stuff for now and continue with priorities. I just wanted to be up front with what I've been up to lately. I try to self document assiduously, something Bucky did also.

Also, by way of furthering the conversation, has anyone mentioned TrimTab Beer yet? It's a thing. Out of Birmingham AL.
The owner is well aware of the significance and is a real Bucky fan per the website. Although I was in Birmingham not so long ago, drinking this beer, I didn't actually make it to the brewery or meet the people. Maybe there will be a next time.

Other interesting facts about me:
first webmaster for BFI, working with Kiyoshi Kuromiya who snagged the bfi.org domain name first webmaster for Kenneth Snelson, the famous tensegrity sculptor, considered Fuller's protege at Black Mountain College, and then chief rival (they didn't get along) as Kenneth and I were good friends. He gave me Barrel Tower in thanks.
